This is little Dierdre.

Jack accompanied Josh and I to The Flagler Museum on Palm Beach Island. After much discussion at the gate about service dogs, we were finally admitted to view the home and belongings of the late Henry Flagler. Little did we know that our movements were being watched on camera by a worried staff. The only dogs ever allowed into The Flagler were with the secret service and came prior to a visit by Lynn Cheney. We eventually were greeted by the museum's archivist who also had an IG. She just happened to be from the city where Jack was born and had rescued ten-year-old Dierdre four years before. Micki, Josh, Jack, Dierdre and I became fast friends and Dierdre ended up spending time at our house on several occasions.

Little Dierdre left her ailing, failing body behind her on March 13, 2006. When Micki adopted her, she had all the signs of abuse and neglect; she was really never able to accept hugging, being held, snuggling, or even petting. It is tragic to imagine how someone would harm such a tiny little creature. Like it or not, Dierdre received Micki's love and devotion right up to her last kiss goodbye. We hope you have already hooked up with Kaya, Doo.
