Solomon is a resident at the Clay Corner Inn in Blacksburg, Virginia and is famous himself. Solomon was trained to be guide-dog for the blind and he has co-authored a book about his observations as an innkeeper's dog. Jack had a bad experience in Blacksburg when he was chased by three dogs as big as Solomon. When we told the innkeeper about the experience, she insisted that Jack and Solomon meet so Jack would not be left to think that all big dogs are mean and scary. Jack was tense at first but he grew more confident each minute he spent in Solomon's presence. He was very gentle and Jack was very intrigued with his acres of fur.
